Namibia Estate Agents Board
CONSTITUTION OF THE BOARD
THE ROLE OF THE NAMIBIA ESTATE AGENTS BOARD.
The law, promulgated under the Estate Agents Act 112 of 1976, under which the Board operates requires;
1. that practitioners meet certain standards in order to become licensed (by writing the Board’s prescribed examination) and;
2. prohibits unethical conduct in the practice of estate agency.
Please note that the role of the Board is neither to protect the regulated industry nor to protect consumers at all cost. THE ROLE OF THE BOARD IS TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC INTEREST. Protecting the public interest means assuring every individual's right to justice and equal treatment whether that individual is a consumer or estate agent.
The Board must, therefore, use its best efforts to achieve fair and impartial enforcement of law.
The NAMIBIA ESTATE AGENTS BOARD consists of seven members appointed by the Namibia Cabinet.
